Hi there! I’m Sarah LaPolla, an editor, writer, former literary agent, and overall bookish person. I started the Glass Cases blog in 2009 as a way to help new writers begin their publishing journey. It’s taken on a few other personalities since then, but has remained a source for writers at its core. As I continue my own journey as a writer and editor, I hope that’s what it will remain. In 2020, I became a freelance editor, and you can find out more information about my editorial services at Next Chapter Editorial. I decided it was time Glass Cases turned the page forward to its next chapter too, but its archives, including my annual query stats from my agenting days, will remain accessible.

Thank you for your Year in Queries statistics. It was very educational. Most agents would never take the time to so this. but our education only makes your job less stressful with garbage you don’t want. So thank you!
I really enjoy reading your blog (I’m working backwards, currently on June 14, 2011) and it’s proven quite helpful. Looking forward to reading more.
Hi Sarah! I’m Ennis. Nice to meet you. Think I’ll check in on your blog from time to time. I really dig your (written) conversational tone.
I admire that you started a blog to showcase unpublished authors, and have taken the time to continue the webpage as a place to help writers. Most writers I know, including myself, are intimidated by agents and this blog shows us you are human after all. 🙂
